Our Hero

June 16, 2007, 4:40 pm

Papa is not only a wonderful husband and father, but he is now a triathlete! Nathan completed his first triathlon in just 93 minutes this morning (what a way to spend the day before Father's Day). The triathlon included a 600-yard swim in a lake, 15-mile bike ride, and 3.1 mile run.

We're very proud of him!

Uncle Jason

June 16, 2007, 4:28 pm

We are very happy to have Uncle Jason living just 2 1/2 hours from us! Jason is starting graduate school in physics at the University of Illinois. He spent some time with us this week before starting his job at the university.

Noah and Lily couldn't be happier...

9 blue stitches

June 16, 2007, 4:24 pm

Noah had his first stitches on June 8th after flipping over the railing on our front porch. Noah was very scared to get stitches, but he managed to hold still while the PA put 9 stitches in his forehead.

All of Noah's male relatives (except his Grandpa Hottman) responded to the news of Noah's stitches with, "Cool! Wow! 9 stitches!" All of Noah's female relatives responded to the news of his stitches with, "Oh no, is he OK?"

Family Fun in Branson

June 7, 2007, 8:59 am

We went to Branson last weekend for Nathan's cousin Carrie's wedding. We didn't realize how much fun we would have. Noah and Lily had a blast playing with their cousins Lauren and Evan. Lily can't stop talking about how Evan jumped out of his crib and broke his arm. She's very sad for him.

We went swimming every chance we got at the hotel pool, got all dressed up for the wedding and reception, and even traveled to Kansas City for more fun at Preston's house. Uncle Jason earned a point as best Uncle by getting in frigid waters at the neighborhood pool just because Lily asked him to.

Noah's favorite part was riding the Duck bus that turned into a boat. The bus hit the water really fast and splashed water all over Noah. We all received quackers and enjoyed quacking and other buses and boats. Noah's convinced he wants to join the army now since the captain of the boat retired from the army.

Lily's favorite part was swimming. She keeps talking about how Papa's Mom and Evan's Mom were there. Lily loves Moms.

Here are some highlights...
