Excitement

March 23, 2007, 11:25 am

When Noah is excited about something, he talks very loudly. He was so excited to go bowling for the first time at his friend Kale's birthday party. When he returned from the party, he told me how the pins go under the floor and what his ball looked like. This is coming from a child who normally answers my questions with, "Fine" or "Nothing." Kale's mom sent me this picture which I think speaks a thousand words:

Our Lovely Artist

Lily loves to paint. First thing in the morning she asks, "Can I paint?" She likes to paint before her nap, after her nap, before dinner, after dinner, and of course right before bed. She calls her paints "the ones that are almost empty" and "the care bear paints." I have promised her that we will get new paints this weekend. She's just a little hard to keep up with.

I put her paintings on the fridge, and she says, "Look! I painted that! All by myself!"

Neat Freak?

Noah has a desk downstairs that becomes the dumping ground for all of his toys, books, and papers. Last weekend I set out a trash back and asked him to please clean off his desk. I didn't think he'd really do it...

Proud cleaner:

(I should have taken a before picture. This was an amazing transformation)

NYC, through Noah's eyes

March 8, 2007, 7:25 am

Noah and I just returned from a trip to NYC to visit JJ, Troy, and Huck. I enjoyed seeing the city through his eyes. Noah's favorite parts of the trip were riding on 4 airplanes, riding on the subway, throwing rocks in the river, Huck's birthday party, being Troy's assistant at church, painting his body, jumping on the bed, playing blocks with JJ, watching The Incredibles, and taking crazy pictures with photo booth on JJ and Troy's computer.

When Noah and I got into a car headed for the airport, Noah was very teary eyed. He said, "It's just that Huck is so sad!" My last memory was of Huck smiling and asking for me to pick him up, so I realized that Noah was sad and he was using Huck as a reason for crying.

When we returned to the Midwest everything was so easy as the airport here is very small. Our flight came in early, our luggage was the first to come out, and we walked directly to our car. I exclaimed, "Wow, was that easy or what?! A lot easier than traveling in New York!" Noah got mad at me and said, "I like New York better!"

I asked Noah to pick out some of his favorite pictures, and then I limited him to about 20:
