(While tucking Noah into bed tonight)
Noah: Kids have been teasing me at school.
Mama: Really? What about?
Noah: They say I love Emmalyn.
Mama: (smirking) Really?! Do you love Emmalyn?
Noah: NO! They say, "Emmalyn loves Noah." But Emmalyn is my friend. I don't love her.
Mama: I see.
Noah: Clayton says she's my girlfriend. You have a girlfriend don't you Mama?
Mama: Who is my girlfriend?
Noah: JJ.
Mama: (laughs) Well, we are friends and she is a girl. She's my sister and my good friend, but I think the kids at school think you like Emmalyn like I like Papa.
Noah: Ewwww. No, she's just a friend.
Mama: I know. Some day when you're older you will have a girlfriend.
Noah: I don't think it will be Emmalyn. I think I'll meet some other girl when I'm big.

Valentines Party

I went to Noah's Valentines Day party this year. Noah is very serious at preschool. He took the game, craft, and passing out his Valentines very seriously. He even ate his snack with a serious look on his face. And afterwards he told me what a GREAT time he had.

Last year I read aloud what was written on all of Noah's cards. Nathan and Noah completely ignored me. This year Noah looked through them with me.

Noah: When will Lily go to preschool like me?
Mama: In about a year and a half when she's 3.
Noah: Oh.
Mama: That's amazing isn't it? We remember when she was first born. Don't you remember?
Noah: She couldn't even talk! Or walk.
Mama: Yep, we've taught her a lot. We taught her how to sit up and crawl and walk and talk.
Noah: And I taught her how to spit and scream.
Mama: Yes you did.

Lily is obsessed with going potty. Only problem--she has to be naked. So I spent lots of time in the bathroom and lots of time dressing and undressing Lily. Oh, and we go through lots of toilet paper.

Science Experiment

Noah made a volcano at preschool today. He informed me when I picked him up that we were going to make one at home. He said that we just needed playdoh, vinegar, and something else that we use to make cookies and he would know it when he saw it.

Noah told me very little when he was in preschool last year. This year I hear it all, and I love it. He tells me who gets in trouble, what they had for snack, and what he learned.

Last year he was supposed to write out the names of all of his classmates on valentines. Nathan and I attempted to get Noah to do this, but he got too frustrated as he didn't know very many letters (mainly n, o, a, and h). This year he writes out 2 valentines each day in preparation for the big V-day party next week.

18 months?!!

Lily will be 18 months old this month. Hard to believe! I thought Noah was so grown up as he approached 2, but Lily still seems like our baby. She tries to run the house, but she's still our baby girl.

Lily had her 18 month Dr.'s appointment last week. She is 22 pounds and 31 inches long. Her height and weight are in the 25th% tile. She has gone from above the 50th as a baby (and with chubby cheeks) to a petite little girl. She eats well, but she also runs all day long. As you know (if you read this blog often), Lily is very busy all of the time.

Lily's doctor was impressed with her language. As he left the room Lily yelled, "THANK YOU! BYE BYE!"

Babies

Lily loves her baby dolls. Somehow her collection has grown. She tries to carry all of her babies around the house and gets a little frustrated. But she is a very loving Mama, and I catch her kissing, hugging, and rocking her babies.



Last night I was taking a bath (with the door closed in hopes of some privacy) when I heard a knock and some giggling. I knew it was Lily. I asked, "WHO IS IT?" I didn't get an answer. So I tried again, "WHO IS IT?" Then I heard Lily exclaim, "IT'S BABY!"

She is our baby girl...

AWANA

Noah attends a program called AWANA. He memorizes Bible verses each week and gets patches on a vest when he learns a certain number of verses. Noah loves AWANA. He's very proud of his vest and patches. He takes memorizing Bible verses very seriously, and he practices each week.

In January the kids were asked to dress a crazy way for AWANA each week. Here is Noah on "layered day" (he did this himself):
